The Startup Sauna local events tour is now in full swing and we’re proud to present our first weekly highlights from the road. The first week kicked off with events in Budapest, Riga and St. Petersburg. We received a staggering amount of applications and chose the most promising 15 teams in each city to pitch for the chance to win a spot in the 1on1 coaching sessions with Startup Sauna and local coaches.
Budapest
At the home of our alumni company enbrite.ly (who won the Slush 100 pitching competition right after graduating Startup Sauna), we held the first local event at Demola Budapest co-working space with the help of our awesome partner Invendor. We we’re excited to see some fresh Internet of Things startups pitching and this excitement carried on to our 3 top performers; ANGL, Vebbu and RobServer.
Riga
Our partner TechHub Riga played it safe by arranging a warmup for our local event the week before. The result, superb pitches by the companies and an event with an enthusiastic and warm atmosphere. Our picks for top performers: inSelly, Lazy and Byrak.
St. Petersburg
The week’s last event took place at the SumIT accelerator of ITMO University. In addition to the usual SaaS and App plays, we were positively surprised to see exciting hardware products. Still, the coaches went with GloberLand, Stunnix and Like Me Tender for top performers at the event.
Lastly, we have to give a huge thanks to the awesome local partners, these events would not be possible without them. Today, we’re starting round number two so Tallinn, Moscow, Prague and Krakow get ready!
