Dr Jani Hursti is an entrepreneur who has worked with startups for over 15 years. Hacker by heart, Jani has had his hands in the shite of pretty much every task a startup faces from hard core engineering to financing, admin and sales. He has held the position of CEO in four firms and Chairman of the Board in six, and has assisted as consultant about a billion others. Jani has also worked as an advisor to venture capitalists and seen the ups, the downs, and the sideway slides of startups including stellar growth, bitter legal battles, IPOs, trade sales, MBOs, and bankruptcies.
Jani has lived and worked both in the Silicon Valley and in London’s financial center. He now runs his next startup, Asema Electronics, one of the top Nordic cleantech firms that produces consumer electronics for the Smart Grid.
As is one of the veterans of Startup Sauna, Jani has been with the project since the first batch started to heat up. He knows exactly what kind of attitude it takes to be one of the entrepreneurs and why you should simply stay the fuck out if you can’t take some heat.
